“Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world, you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life and travel leaves marks on you.”
—Anthony Bourdain
Travel can be expensive, especially on school schedules.
If you’re a teacher, a school employee, a parent of school age kids, or anyone who’s travel is limited to travel times, Lesson Plans & Layovers is your guide to making travel affordable, predictable, and fun.
Some of our Favorites
Many of our family vacations have included National Parks, cruises and of course, lots of Disney World.

Cruise trips
We have gone on a number of cruises on both Royal Caribbean and Carnival. Cruises are relatively straightforward ways to introduce yourself and your family to some unique destinations and exploration opportunities. If you pair island days with some excursions you can catch a really unique look at island culture.

We love Puerto Rico
We have been to this island several times and have experienced a lot of what it has to offer, including city life, culture and history, a rainforest and most recently, we traveled to the island of Vieques – just off the east coast of Puerto Rico. It is quaint and stunning.

Yosemite & PCH
This National Park is one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen. If you have not been, you NEED to go. Put it at the start or end of a trip along the Pacific Coast Highway between L.A. and San Francisco and you’ll have yourself an unforgettable trip. We have often said we could do this trip yearly.

Disneyworld
We have been to Disney World MANY times! It has been a part of our story since the very beginning of our relationship. With our best friends who have Cast Member ties to WDW, we have amassed countless magical memories. Our kids have loved and continue to enjoy coming here. But to be real, it’s expensive. We have found some ways to save money while at Disney. A video will be upcoming:)
