Who are we?
We have been married for just shy of 25 years. We are also parents to two kids (who are not so kid-like anymore!). Brian has been a high school Social Studies teacher for 27 years and Abby has been a high school ELA teacher for 23 years. We also love to travel. Much of our travel early in our lives was dictated by the fun things we wanted to do with our kids.
Travel changes you
We discovered early on that travel changes you. We loved the opportunity to visit and experience life outside of our bubble. As educators we feel that these experiences add depth to our perspectives and ultimately makes us better educators. As a parent we love what travel does to our kids. We love that they can learn empathy from experiences as well as learn to appreciate other cultures. Even though most of our travel with them has been domestic, the RULE still applies. The goals is to just GO.

Thinking deeper about travel after 25 years
Early in our marriage, we made it a priority to travel. This was a part of our budget. We waited a few years to have children so our travel budget was a good chunk of change for a newly married couple. Only later, as our kids started growing up, did we start thinking more and more about how to stretch our dollar to experience more with them. This introduced us to Points and Miles. We played the “game” with little knowledge of what we were doing but along the way we have figured out some essential things.
We both teach and we have children in school so our schedule has always been limited by our school calendar. All that, and we still want to travel. By learning what we have learned on how to stretch our travel budget, it has made that possible and we want that for you, too.
